EEII Event Kosice

Kosice, October 15th, 2018: EEII Private-Public-Partnership event was focused mostly on Informational Technology and Artificial Intelligence. Event was held in the premises of Telegrafia a.s. – a highly innovative and global active enterprise.

The event was organized in order to link research with industry by stimulating a target-oriented interaction among stakeholders and decision-makers from various regions. Funding opportunities coming from both public and private programs were presented to young scientists from Slovakia. Purpose of this event was to make young scientists aware of the existance of funding programs and analyze how best practice from Western regions can be adapted to current situation in Eastern Danube region. The discussions on further cooperation was held between EEII project partners and invited institutions.

Welcome remarks were made by Mr. Jürgen Raizner, director of Steinbeis Romania. He explained EEII and expressed strong interest in the proposals of the participating young scientists from Slovakia. Kosice Technical University is invited to become project partner in future European Early Innovators Program. EEII project partners were introduced to the attendees.

Mr. Mike Nagorkin, director of Steinbeis Enterprise in Ukraine, presented the results of mapping start-up infrastructure. He described examples which were established in Ukraine successfully with financial support from US and EU investors.

Host of the event, NGO Common Regions, represtended by Mrs. Karolina Fortunenko, introduced the start-up infrastructure in Slovakia.

We thank following external experts for their contribution to the sucess of the event:

  • Radko Lapoš, COE of Education and Innovation Center, Velmax (Slovakia) – presented Erasmus programme for young entrepreneurs;
  • Csaba Sidor, researcher at Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia) – presented IT infrastructure which can be used by start-ups in the sphere of tourism in Slovakia;
  • Virág Zsár, coordinator of international office, HÉTFA Research Institute and Center for Economic and Social Analysis (Hungary) – presented new project “iFEMPOWER” what is focused on supporting women entrepreneurship in EU






Teams composed by students and researchers from Slovakia and Ukraine presented their project ideas. Examples:

  • App to strengthen efficiency of waiters in restaurants
  • Hotel and recreational center for pets;
  • App for selecting and adapting accessories for cars;
  • City guide for foreigners.

Proposed projects will be evaluated carefully and have the chance to become pilot projects of EEII. If so, the project developers will be coached by EEII project partners and get the chance to present their project ideas to potential investors.
